The true purpose of symbols and symbolism

We live in a world controlled and teleguided by symbols. Symbols are a language deeply embedded or programmed into our racial consciousness from mundane things such as the traffic lights as they turn from red through orange to green; to more complex stuff such as algorithms or abstract algebraic equations.

From the earliest days of earth's existence, symbols have been discovered by archeologists in caves - simplistic drawings that represented the activities of their daily lives.

But modern man has taken symbolism to ever greater heights until it has taken on new, powerful and sinister meanings.

Today the purpose of symbolism is primarily to create a constant awareness of an event, product service...something that is not too conspicuous but nevertheless is an ever present reality at the back of our minds.

And right there you have the answer - subliminal control of what we think and how we think!

The ever present billboards advertising various products and services may not necessarily remain in the conscious mind for long, but buried under the waking consciousness they work 24/7 to bend our will one way or another to become sympathetic towards a particular brand.

It is the reason why some prefer a certain beverage over another for instance - the power of subliminal manipulation.

Have you ever wondered why billions of dollars are spent on advertising?

Do you really believe that watching ads on TV will change your mind about certain preferences and biases you already have towards certain things?

Advertising does not work through the short term power of persuasion, it works through the long term and consistent power of suggestion - what one might in fact refer to as mass hypnosis or mind control.

The power of symbolism runs far deeper than you think.

We are about to explore just how deep it runs in this series.

Stay tuned!
